Released on 31 August 2026.
This release is all about tagging. You can now add dimensions to your tagged facts, and numeric tagging goes well beyond monetary amounts, with shares, percentages, per-share figures and ratio units. We've also introduced Boolean tagging for true/false statements and clearer labels in the Taxonomy Browser.
Many disclosures only make sense in a dimensional context. In the Statement of Changes in Equity, for example, a value belongs to a specific component of equity, such as retained earnings. Previously, Vicosight could only tag a fact against an entity and a period. We're pleased to introduce dimensional tagging: you can now see which dimensions apply to a tagged fact and assign the right members to it, directly in the Inspector. It works for both numbers and text, and the dimensions you choose are carried through to the exported report.
Vicosight only offers the members that are valid for the concept, so you can't create an invalid combination by mistake. Each dimension's default member is clearly marked, and choosing it simply removes the dimension from the fact, because default members are never reported explicitly in ESEF.
We're now extending dimensions to financial statement tables, so that you can assign dimension members to whole rows and columns, and to the extension taxonomy that Vicosight generates for your report.
Annual and sustainability reports contain far more than amounts in a currency: share counts, percentages, earnings per share and intensity metrics such as emissions per revenue. You can now tag shares, percentages, per-share figures and ratios from start to finish, with the right unit and the right value every time.
We've also made the Tag Inspector safer: when the number format you've selected can't be applied to the value, the Save button is now disabled until you choose a compatible format.
Reports often include statements that are legally required and resolve to a simple yes or no, for example a confirmation from the directors. You can now tag these as Boolean facts. When you select a true/false concept in the Taxonomy Browser, Vicosight asks whether the selected text means True or False and tags it accordingly, without you having to touch any technical attributes. The Inspector shows the reported value, and you can switch it between True and False at any time. Your text in the report stays exactly as written.
Some concepts appear more than once in the base taxonomy with different labels. In the Statement of Changes in Equity, for instance, equity appears both at the beginning and at the end of the period. Previously, the Taxonomy Browser showed the same standard label for both, which made them hard to tell apart. It now shows the label the taxonomy intends for each position, such as "Equity at beginning of period" and "Equity at end of period", and keeps that label when you apply the concept.
