Released on 27 July 2026.
This release lets you build your company's own extension taxonomy directly in Vicosight: create extension concepts of any data type, anchor them to the base taxonomy and remove the ones you no longer need. Table tagging also gains row and column period settings and clearer visual cues.
We're pleased to introduce extension concepts in Vicosight. Previously, when the base taxonomy had no suitable concept for an entity-specific disclosure, there was no way to define one from within Vicosight. You can now create new concepts in your company's extension taxonomy straight from the editor, anchor them to the base taxonomy and use them for tagging alongside the standard concepts. This lets you tag disclosures that are specific to your company while keeping your extension taxonomy tidy and linked to the core taxonomy.
Once an extension concept has been created or used for tagging, its label and properties are shown just like those of a base taxonomy concept.
For context, the ESEF Reporting Manual requires issuers to anchor each extension element to at least one element in the core taxonomy with the closest wider accounting meaning and scope. Anchoring keeps entity-specific extensions comparable with the standard taxonomy.
Building on the row and column tagging we introduced in the previous release, you can now assign a period setting, Default period or Previous period, to a whole row or column of a financial statement table. Every fact you tag in that row or column then picks up the right period automatically, based on the project's default period and whether the concept is an instant or a duration. The previous period is derived from the project default period, so you don't need to set dates cell by cell.
To make the state of a table easy to read at a glance, the editor now shows clear visual cues for tagged and untagged numeric cells, for the selected row or column, and for rows and columns that carry a period or unit setting. This helps you see what is tagged, what is configured and what is still missing before you apply or remove tags.
You can now group related tagged concepts under an abstract grouping concept from the Presentation tab of the Inspector panel. The list offers the abstract grouping concepts available in the base taxonomy, and your choice is saved in the presentation structure of your report, so the hierarchy reflects how you've organised your disclosures. Using a grouping concept is optional.
