EAP release notes: warnings before you edit linked content and more

Written by Vicosight | Apr 27, 2026, 7:00:00 AM

Released on 27 April 2026, with a follow-up patch on 29 April 2026.

This release helps you keep the content you've placed from Vicosight into InDesign and InCopy accurate: you're now warned before an edit breaks the link to Vicosight, and the Update section button refreshes all linked content that has updates in one go. In tagging, you can no longer apply abstract concepts by mistake, and block tagging is more flexible.

What's new

Warnings before you edit linked content

Content you place from Vicosight stays linked to its source, so it can be updated whenever the approved text changes. Previously, it was easy to type into, paste over or delete linked text without realising that doing so breaks that link. Now, as soon as you start to edit or delete linked text in InDesign or InCopy, a warning appears before the change is made. You can choose to proceed, which applies your change and unlinks that content, or cancel and leave it as it was. This gives you a conscious choice whenever you make a local override, so your document doesn't silently drift away from the approved source.

How it works

  • The warning only appears when you actually change linked text. Clicking into it or placing your cursor in it doesn't trigger the warning.
  • Text you've typed yourself, which isn't linked to Vicosight, can be edited as usual without any warning.
  • Once you proceed, the visual indicators for that content are removed, as it's no longer linked.
  • The warnings are available in English and Swedish.

Update all linked content from the footer

The Update section button in the footer of the extension now updates every linked section and segment in your document that has an update available. Previously, you had to work through the updated content one item at a time. Content that's already up to date is left untouched, so you can bring your document in line with Vicosight in a single step.

Tagging

Abstract concepts are used to group other concepts in a taxonomy and aren't meant to be tagged. When you select an abstract concept, the Apply tag button is now hidden, so you can't tag it by mistake. We've also made block tagging more flexible: you can now tag containers in any order rather than strictly one after the other.
